Jorge Eduardo Ramires grows Caturra and Colombia varieties at 1800 meters above sea level on his farm, Las Palmas. Out of the 14 hectares of total farm area, only 3 hectares are used for coffee production. Jorge picks the varieties separately and processes his coffee in the traditional fashion. He depulps the seeds before overnight fermentation in open air, after which he washes the coffee clean and lays it out to dry in the sun on the rooftop of his house. By performing this process with careful attention to detail he has produced a coffee with clean, dynamic, and complex flavors of persimmon, cranberry, and lemon-lime.

This is our first year buying from Jorge Eduardo Ramires. James Gibbs at Caravela Coffee connected us with an offer sample from origin of this limited lot. We scored it 87.5 points and purchased 9 35kg vacuum-sealed boxes for $5.65/lb EXW, on a day when the Coffee Commodity price was $1.24/lb.
